Yet, I am learning—an Italian phrase my eighth grade social studies teacher imparted on me. It’s one thing that’s stayed with me since then, and I interpret it as I am still learning. All through my traditional public school K-12 education it was beat into my head, be a life-long learner. At the time I met that sentiment with rolled eyes and crossed-arm huff. Now, in retrospect, as will most things, it makes sense.

You really can learn something new everyday. Especially with a curious mindset and surrender to perfectionism (easier said than done). Another eye-roll inducing phrase I repeatedly heard growing up was the many iterations of your attitude matters. In the years of life since then, my understanding of this has hit me like a smack in the head. It really does make a difference. The point I’m making with digging up these past phrases is sharing a glimpse into my values. The little things that I picked up and stuck with me. They’re so important that I’ve kept them close and now I feel they’re so valuable that they also need to be shared with others. You too deserve to hear these phrases in the hopes that you will also reap the benefits of applying them to your life.

This is my first blog for knechtmedia.com and while yes, I’ll admit at this time, the website is not up to my standards, but at least it’s up. It’s a start, it’s a beginning, and I am still learning.

I try to learn and make continuous improvement each day. I’m looking forward to cringing at this months from now. I know I’ll have grown but I also know that I won’t be able to do that unless I just start, so that’s what I’m doing. I am still learning.
